Prof Chris Lines is a transportation and road safety professional, with over 40 years experience. His career started at the Transport Reasearch Laboratory in 1970 and covered research an applied research in the fields of communication with drivers, traffic management & control, traffic safety and transportation

Chris was  part of the team that bought TRL and moved the company into the private sector. During his career at TRL he also gained management experience as Head of Traffic & Transport and commercial skills as Head of Business Development

Chris joined Transport for London in 2003 as Head of the London Road Safety Unit where he led the team responsible for casuality reductions until 2010. During this period London achieved a 52% reduction in all Killed and Seriously Injured (KSI), including a 71% decrease in child KSI
